THE MAIN RULES FOR THE ASSEMBLY AND MAINTENANCE OF SHELVING: HOW TO HAVE A FUNCTIONAL PRODUCT THAT COMPLIES WITH SAFETY REGULATIONS
EVEN IN THE METALWORKING SECTOR THERE ARE STANDARDS THAT MUST BE FAITHFULLY FOLLOWED DURING THE PRODUCTION, ASSEMBLY AND SUBSEQUENT MAINTENANCE OF SHELVING, BOTH FOR SIMPLE MULTI-STOREY AND FOR MORE COMPLEX SYSTEMS. LET'S SEE TOGETHER THE FUNDAMENTAL STEPS.
In order to have an excellent and functional shelving system, precise rules must be respected during production and assembly, fundamental aspects for the efficiency of the system and the safety of the customer. Starting from the processing, the materials used must be certified, traceable and must not contain any substance harmful to health. All these elements are closely linked to the subsequent assembly phase in which, even in this case, there are very precise processing and safety standards. In order to assemble a shelving unit correctly and thus make the most of its intended use, it is essential that the assembly personnel are qualified and have the appropriate equipment. Especially with regard to personal accident prevention equipment, including: helmet, gloves, safety shoes and any safety belts are required in relation to the specific assembly operations, so the assembler is obliged to wear them throughout the duration of the work.

Each type of shelving branded Mobilrot has a specific assembly sequence that assemblers are required to follow faithfully for proper installation and perfect operation of the product. As for the PROCOSS line, the first operation to be performed is the positioning of the sides, followed by the assembly of the shelves, and then continue with the assembly of the stiffening crosses, assembly of accessories (containers, back covers, drawers) and finally assembly of walkways and stairs.

Our shelving systems are designed to last over time and, in this regard, it is essential to carry out regular inspections in order to identify any anomalies. The scheduled maintenance of the plant avoid dangerous situations that could cause accidents and injuries, so it is good to carry them out regularly.
For the shelving of the PROCOSS line, our technicians have provided specific deadlines for the control and maintenance of the shelving, which we report below:
-Check for damaged parts due to accidental impacts (every 12 months);
– Check that the shelves are perfectly hooked to the upright (every 12 months);
– Check the flatness of the shelves and the perpendicularity of the uprights (every 12 months);
– Check the tightness of the dowels that keep the shelf fixed to the ground (every 12 months);
– Check the condition of the galvanizing and painting (every year if the shelving is located in corrosive environments, every 5 years if located in normal environments);
– Periodically check the condition of the abutment, i.e. make sure that it does not present any deformations that could affect its capacity (expiry date of checks at the discretion of the internal safety manager);
– Periodically check the fixing components of the sliding parts (every 12 months).

Likewise for FIXRACK systems, it is important to perform periodic inspections, such as:
– Visual maintenance (every 12 months);
– Bolt tightening (every 12 months);
– Verify shoulder integrity (check expiration times at discretion of internal safety manager);
– Verify integrity of beams (every 12 months);
– Check the integrity of the beam brackets (every 12 months);
– Check the integrity of the floor fixing (every 12 months).
If during inspections any damaged elements are detected, it is essential to replace them in order to restore the complete efficiency and safety of the system. It is also important not to alter the geometry of the shelving without first consulting our technicians, who are always available for any advice, clarification or modification.
